At RMD, we cannot stress enough the importance of regular cleaning and sanitization for your Taylor frozen beverage dispenser. Making sure things run smoothly and keeping products clean isn’t the only perk of this routine. It’s also a way to stay ahead of the game by spotting any worn-out parts, like o-rings and scraper blades, before they become a bigger problem.

Check out our easy-to-follow guide below for draining, taking apart, cleaning, and refilling your machine. Keeping up with these steps doesn’t just keep your frozen coffee or frozen cocktail machine squeaky clean—it also helps it last longer.

Draining:

  1. Pull the feed tube out and set aside.

  2. Set the machine to the wash cycle and drain all product.

  3. Add buckets of water to the machine and continue draining.

  4. Scrub the hopper to ensure all product is removed from the sides.

  5. Continue adding buckets of water until drainage is clear.

  6. Turn the machine off once product and water are removed.

Disassembly:

  1. Remove the torque arm.

  2. Undo the door screws to initiate disassembly.

  3. Take out the door assembly.

  4. Pull out the auger.

  5. Remove scraper blades.

  6. Pull out the drive shaft from the back of the machine.

  7. Remove O-rings from all pieces.

  8. Scrub and wash all pieces in warm, soapy water.

  9. Ensure thorough cleaning of hoppers and drive shaft with appropriate brushes.

  10. Let the pieces dry before reassembly.

  11. Check the drip tray for any excess product and clean it.

Assembly:

  1. Put o-rings on the drive shaft and reinstall the seal.

  2. Apply Taylor lube to o-rings and seal on the drive shaft. Do not add lube to the square end of the drive shaft.

  3. Place the drive shaft back in door.

  4. For the door, put o-rings on the draw valve and apply Taylor lube around o-rings.

  5. Reinstall the draw valve back in the door, secure it, and lock it in place.

  6. Place stopper back in and apply pressure. Twist your draw valvule until it slides in. Then twist again locking it in place.

  7. Insert the handle and lock it on top with the valve handle.

  8. Put the white bearing back on the door and add the door gasket, ensuring it’s tight to prevent leaks.

  9. Attach scraper blades to the auger and securely place it back in the drive shaft. Make sure it is secure and flush with the door.

  10. Add o-rings to the slush arm and insert it into the drive shaft.

  11. Reattach the door and tighten with door screws.

  12. Reinsert the torque arm.

  13. Place the feed tube back in the hopper but do not reinsert. Let it sit in the hopper allowing it to be sanitized.

Sanitizing:

  1. Mix sanitizer solution by combining 1 scoop of Stera Sheen with 2 gallons of warm water.

  2. Pour sanitized water solution into the hopper.

  3. Brush sanitized water solution across the sides of the hopper.

  4. Turn the machine on the wash cycle for a minimum of 2 minutes.

  5. After 2 minutes, drain the machine of sanitizer.

Add Product:

  1. Flush out any remaining sanitizer by adding some product to the hopper.

  2. Once you start seeing the product come through the front, close the handle.

  3. Fill the machine with new product.

  4. Once product stops bubbling, reinsert the feeding tube.

  5. Turn on the machine to auto mode.

  6. Let your product freeze and serve!
